Welcome to the Traverse City Figure Skating Club (TCFSC) of Traverse City, Michigan! The Club was established in 1975 as the Twin Bays Skating Club and operated under that name for 35 years. The name was changed to the Traverse City Figure Skating Club in January, 2010 in order to more clearly designate the home base of the skaters, especially at competitions out of town. It is a volunteer run club with 501(c)(3) status. The Club offers a wide range of skating options beginning with Learn to Skate/Basic Skills and continuing through more advanced areas such as freestyle, moves in the field, and ice dance. Skating lessons are offered for children from age 3 and up through adults. Competitive skaters may choose to participate in individual and/or team skating competitions at the local, state, and national level. The Club is the home of the Traverse City Combined High School Figure Skating team for skaters from all of the area high schools and the Northern Lights Synchronized Skating teams for youth, teens, and adults. TCFSC presents an annual Ice Show in March and hosts the Cherry Classic Figure Skating Competition in early June.
